Moreover, World Health Organization estimates that 60 % of the Cardiac patients in the world will be Indians by 2010.That’s not all, scientists expect that by 2020, more than 40 million people will suffer from Osteoarthritis. What’s more, Obesity, which is another growing health concern in India. Scientists say that the percentage of overweight/ obese people in India is on track to rise from 9% in 1995 to 24% in 2025.Last but not the least, for Respiratory disorders, United nations report says that more than 500,000 premature deaths in India are caused by atmospheric pollution each year.Thereby, raising the early warning signals for the health concerns in India. But have we ever realized that what is causing all these health hazards…These rising health hazards are primarily due to the high risk lifestyle factors such as· Stress· Smoking· Pollution· Alcohol· Fast and processed foods and· The high level of pesticides in Indian foods.
Center for science and environment study reports that Indians eat 111 grams of fruits everyday, out of which 42% is nothing but pesticides & the average Indian consumes 100 to 6000 times more pesticides than normal. All these factors lead to sacrificing the nutritional value of foods on a daily basis leading to the nutritional challenge.
Even WHO report on Diet and Disease says that poor diets and lack of exercise are the leading causes of non-communicable disease, such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and certain cancers, which accounts for nearly 60% of 56.5 million deaths a year deemed preventable. Therefore, to ensure optimal health let us understand the science of staying healthy. The science of staying healthy rests on the four basic pillars for optimal health· Proper nutrition· Regular exercise· Adequate rest and· Positive mental attitude, that gives us all the energy and vitality to live life to the fullest.

By Dr Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal TrainerDid you know that the vast majority of people in this day and age have excess abdominal fat? The first thing that most people think of is that their extra abdominal fat is simply ugly, is covering up their abs from being visible, and makes them self conscious about showing off their body.Scientific research has clearly demonstrated that although it is unhealthy in general to have excess body fat throughout your body, it is also particularly dangerous to have excess abdominal fat. There are two types of fat that you have in your abdominal area. The first type that covers up your abs from being visible is called subcutaneous fat and lies directly beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscles. The second type of fat that you have in your abdominal area is called visceral fat, and that lies deeper in the abdomen beneath your muscle and surrounding your organs. Visceral fat also plays a role in giving certain men that "beer belly" appearance where their abdomen protrudes excessively but at the same time, also feels sort of hard if you push on it. Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in the abdominal area are serious health risk factors, but science has shown that having excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous than subcutaneous fat. Both of them greatly increase the risk your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases.Part of the reason visceral fat is particularly dangerous is that it apparently releases more inflammatory molecules into your body on a consistent basis. If you care about the quality of your life and your loved ones, reducing your abdominal fat should be one of your TOP priorities! There's just no way around it.
The ONLY solution to consistently loose your abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to combine a sound nutritious diet full of unprocessed natural foods with a proper exercise that stimulates the necessary hormonal and metabolic response within your body. Both your food intake ALONG WITH NATURAL NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS as well as your EXERCISE are important if you are to get this right. Don't waste another day allowing that nasty abdominal fat to kill your confidence as well as contribute to your risk for MAJOR diseases.
